20 years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the things you did. So throw off your bow lines, sail away from the safe harbour, catch the trade winds in your sails, explore, dream, discover”
Mark Twain

On 14th March 2009 Jon Beswick and Charlie Curtis, partnered with One to One Children’s Fund, set off from SouthWest London to circumnavigate Africa in a Land Rover Defender.

Jon and Charlie will travel the coastline of Africa in a bid to raise awareness for the One to One Children’s fund and the work they do for vulnerable children in the community. On route, they will visit the One to One PATA centres assisting in the construction of shelters at these clinics.

. We plan to travel around the edge of Africa. Following as much of the coastline as possible we will be following the Western coastline down to Cape Town, dipping in and out of the desert and rain forest. The return journey will see us heading up the east coast, allowing us to trek in Uganda in search of gorillas, and climb Kilimanjaro. This route promises to test our limits, offering some of the most exciting and challenging experiences one could encounter anywhere on the planet ”.
